Our brand Pork Farms, the nation’s best-selling pork pie brand, has expanded its range with a tasty twist on a classic with the launch of its Hog Roast and Apple Medium Pork Pie.
Packed with all of the flavour of a traditional British hog roast with apple, the pie has been developed in response to a gap in the market for flavour innovation in medium sized pork pies. Encased in a traditional hot water crust pastry, the pie contains a delicious combination of seasoned 100% British pork and dried apple.
Available for a limited time until Spring 2024, the new pork pie has been designed in a medium size format to cater for sharing occasions in the run up to party season, as well as delivering a stronger overall taste experience.
The launch follows another period of success for Pork Farms, with the brand growing by 50% over the last 12 weeks, reaching total sales of £12.9m. Its strength in the savoury pastry category is testament to Pork Farms’ commitment to creating high quality and great tasting products made from 100% British pork, and containing no nitrates or artificial ingredients.
The Pork Farms Hog Roast and Apple Medium Pork Pie (295g, RRP £2.50) is available now in Morrisons, Asda, Tesco, and across convenience.
Jason Manley, Brand Director at Pork Farms, which is part of The Compleat Food Group, said: “As the UK’s No.1 pork pie brand, we’re always looking at how we can continue to innovate and offer consumers exciting new recipes that celebrate our heritage whilst appealing to modern tastes. A lot of innovation in this part of the savoury pastry category is driven through mini and snack formats, so we spotted the perfect opportunity to offer a new flavoured medium pork pie inspired by the traditional British hog roast and apple.
“With events such as Bonfire Night, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve on the horizon, many shoppers will be looking to stock their baskets with food that they can share with friends and family. This new flavoured pork pie is the perfect go-to treat for these occasions, bringing together classic flavours in a larger, more shareable format.”
