We’re seeking a skilled professional to undertake financial accounting activities and provide technical advice that supports key business decisions. This is a great opportunity to apply your expertise in a role where accuracy and insight make a real difference.

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00 and Fridays 8:30 – 16:00, who doesn’t love an early finish on a Friday?!

Your Duties Will Include:

• Undertake financial accounting activities for month end including accruals and prepayment journals along with consolidation activities for head office companies
• Facilitate a smooth external audit process by project managing the business through the process and being the main contact for the external auditors
• Ensure statutory accounts are completed on a timely and accurate basis
• Provide accounting advice including the production of technical accounting papers on new business ideas and concepts
• Oversee the completion of various returns to HMRC for VAT and the annual PSA
• Support and drive financial accounting project work which could include corporate simplifications, implementation of new accounting standards, integration of acquisitions
• Handle all aspects of people management for 1 direct report including objective setting, appraisals and training

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• Strong technical accounting knowledge relevant for a £1bn turnover business
• Analytical and problem solving
• Advanced excel skills
• Ability to work at pace with a demanding workload including prioritisation skills and balancing pace with accuracy
• Suits a newly qualified accountant
