We are recruiting for a Hygiene Manager to oversee the Hygiene requirements of our busy food production facility in Clitheroe.

Purpose of the role to take full management of the Hygiene Function and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, document cleaning instructions and adhere to all cleaning schedules, whilst managing the hygiene team and carrying out training with them.

Responsible for:

  • Hygiene Team Leaders (Nights)
  • Hygiene Support (Engineering – Nights)
  • Hygiene Operatives (Nights)
  • Facility Cleaners (AM & PM)

Hours:

39 hours per week

20:00 – 04:00

5 out of 7 days

Option to work a day shift, one day per week

Key duties

  • Ensure that all Health and Safety aspects of the role are adhered to in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety policy
  • Responsible for all ‘people management aspects’ including development of the team and updating training records.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the sites hygiene manual which includes:
  • Cleaning work instructions for all hygiene tasks around the factory: work with Hygiene contractor to ensure this is correct, valid and up to date
  • Ensure all cleaning schedules are correct, valid and up to date, and that they are adhered to
  • Development of safe systems of work
  • Development of CIC cards for all new equipment brought to site
  • Provide technical information as required by both internal and external customers
  • Assist in the management of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) documentations (Health & Safety)
  • Involvement in accident investigation reports
  • Assisting Technical Team in Daily role
  • Involvement in incident investigation to prevent re-occurrence. 
  • Management of the Consumables stocks (High Care PPE & Consumables)
  • Involvement in preparing for BRC and other audits
  • Involvement of continuous improvement project work in relation to site hygiene
  • Carry out inspection sign offs following completion of process equipment cleaning / engineering maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 & 3 Food Safety & Hygiene
  • ESOL Level 2 or equivalent
  • HACCP Level 2
  • HACCP Level 3 (desirable)
  • IOSH in Health & Safety principles (desirable)

Experience:

  • Experience in a similar type of role in Food Manufacturing Industry
  • Previous people management experience (Supervisory role)

  • Good working knowledge of products, processes and cleaning processes in a fast moving and challenging food product/manufacturing environment (desirable)
