Hygiene Manager 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Hygiene Manager to join our brilliant Night Hygiene Team!

Based at our manufacturing site in Poole, you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness across the factory.

Location: Poole, BH15 2AS 

Working Days:  Choose between Monday – Friday or Tuesday to Saturday

Working Hours: 21:00 – 06:00 (some flexibility required)

Salary: £55,000 – £58,000 

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Manage day-to-day hygiene activities, systems and pest management across the site.
  • Management of hygiene management systems to the required standard.
  • Drive continuous improvement in hygiene systems and standards across the sites through innovative ways of working and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Management, leading, training and development of the hygiene team.
  • Hygiene adherence to company manufacturing standard, legislation and customer requirements.
  • Implementation of technical strategy based on customer requirements and business strategy in relation to hygiene.
  • Leading the function in audits and visits
  • Operate as part of the site technical leadership team
  • Control and management of site hygiene budget.
  • Standardisation and delivering best practice across hygiene ways of working and associated systems including data analysis

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 &3 Food Safety and Hygiene
  • HACCP Level 2/3
  • IOSH in Health & Safety principles (desirable)

 

Experience:

  • Strong Technical and Hygiene acumen, health & safety, Listeria management, food microbiology and chemical management.
  • Previous complex technical management and/or hygiene management experience at a senior level.  
  • Previous people management experience

Key Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office, Hygiene Systems and ERP management systems
  • Attention to detail and quality 
  • Ability to demonstrate and describe procedures effectively
  • Successfully build and manage a team as well as motivate staff
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on approach 
  • Good communication skills with professional and positive attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, coaching and negotiating skills
  • Knowledge of food legislation and food safety principles 
  • Knowledge of BRC standards and quality management systems
